Music for better listening
My goal in doing the program was simple: I wanted to listen better.
Not because I had hearing issues, but because I felt my cognitive skills (my ability to process, focus, and be present) could use support. And that’s exactly what Systemic Listening Therapy gave me.
Since this kind of therapy was new to me, I was a little apprehensive at first. But Louise made sure I felt comfortable and at ease throughout.
Music has always felt healing to me, but this experience taught me something deeper: how to differentiate noise from sound. That shift in perception helped sharpen my cognition in subtle but powerful ways.
I truly believe the older we get, the less we actually listen; to ourselves, to others, to the world. And that’s why therapies like these are important. For everyone.
