A mother’s shared rituals with her autistic son
We came to Louise through a friend’s referral. I wasn’t sure what to expect.
But Louise, who is Swedish-Filipino, trained in Germany, and is now based in Bangalore, has a calm, grounded presence that feels therapeutic in itself. She understands autism not just academically, but from the lived reality of families navigating it every day.
Systemic Listening Therapy is unlike anything else. It combines music, technology, and empathy to help people process better: emotionally, neurologically, and even spiritually. Louise designed therapy phases not just for Hasan, but for me too, as his mother.
It’s become a shared ritual. Hasan sits in his therapy room, listening to Mozart and Gregorian chants, while I wear my own headphones in another space. There’s no talking, no phones, just stillness, a mandala corner, and sleep. Some days I doze off completely. Louise is so thoughtful! She’ll even cover me with a blanket if I forget.
What makes Louise different is that she offers therapy for the whole family, not just the child. That level of empathy is rare.
Today, Hasan can hold eye contact, tolerate loud environments, follow three-step instructions, and express how he feels. These are big, hard-won victories. Hats off to Louise, who’s helped make them possible: with grace, care, and professionalism.
